How to Manually Root the Motorola Droid RAZR for Free
The Motorola RAZR was one of the greatest phones that ever lived. The Motorola Droid RAZR was designed to be the modern upgrade to that phenomenal flip phone.
Today, the Droid RAZR is a popular Android smartphone. However, most RAZR users never see the full potential of their devices. Why? Because they haven’t rooted them, of course.
Rooting your Motorola Droid RAZR gives you access to a whole bunch of new and exciting features. It helps you speed up your device and break free of carrier restrictions.
Here are just some of the benefits of rooting a Motorola Droid RAZR:
-Install popular custom ROMs like CyanogenMod, AOKP, and others which completely change your UI
-Make your RAZR faster and more efficient
-Improve battery life
-Uninstall bloatware apps from Motorola and other companies
-Tether Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections for free without having to pay your carrier $30 per month
-Install thousands of root only apps from the Google Play Store
-Backup everything important on your phone
The Motorola Droid RAZR is showing its age. The latest update bumped the RAZR to 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, but the screen has a resolution of just 540x960. Fortunately, it does have 1GB of RAM and a 1.2GHz CPU, which means it should be able to handle most popular custom ROMs and root Android upgrades.
With that in mind, let’s start rooting!
Note: the rooting instructions below actually apply to most Motorola smartphones, including the Droid RAZR Maxx, Droid RAZR HD, and many others. In fact, it should work on all Motorola smartphones with Android 4.1.2.
Warning: Before You Proceed
One Click Root automatic rooting software does not currently support the Motorola Droid RAZR. That means you have to root your device manually. Manually rooting a phone is relatively straightforward, but when done incorrectly, it can result in serious damage to your device.
With that in mind, approach rooting with caution. One Click Root takes no responsibility for damages done to your phone after following the instructions below. Rooting isn’t dangerous, but if you don’t follow the correct instructions for your device, then it can lead to some serious problems.
All serious matters aside, are you ready to root?
-Droid RAZR (or any other Motorola smartphone) with Android 4.1.2 and at least 50% battery life
-Internet connected PC
-Micro USB/USB cord
-10 minutes of free time
Step by Step Guide

Step 2) Extract the contents of that zip file to your desktop or any other temporary location
Step 3) Download the latest Motorola USB Drivers if you haven’t already done so: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/88481
Step 4) Enable USB Debugging mode on your Droid RAZR by going into Settings > Developer options and swiping the Developer options switch to On. Then, from the Allow development settings? Screen, tap OK. Finally, tap USB debugging to enable the setting and press OK.
Step 5) Connect your Droid RAZR to your PC using your micro-USB cord
Step 6) Navigate to your extracted directory from Step 2 and double click on the run.bat file.
Step 7) Click through the root exploit setup process, which will helpfully walk you through the rest of the way. Once the process is complete, your Droid RAZR will be completely rooted.
Compared to other rooting instructions, Motorola phones are surprisingly easy to root (provided you have a Motorola Droid with Android 4.1.2). By following the seven steps listed above, you can root just about any Motorola Android phone out there.

What Customers are Saying
I called on One Click Root after my own initial attempt for root bricked my LG G4 (H81010o). If you have a new phone running the latest and more challenging software, then I recommend this service. Its well worth the money. Technician "JJ" helped me and was a smooth and very capable professional. Rarely do I pay for tech support or make endorsements so purchase with confidence, these folks are legit!
