Samsung finally unveils the Samsung Galaxy Fold and should arrive in the market by Q2 2019

The four variants of the Samsung Galaxy S10, namely Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10e, and Galaxy S10 5G – is finally out in the market and a powerful line-up at that. Along with it, are three Galaxy smartwatch that should complement the powerful flagship and promote a balanced lifestyle at the same time.

But that’s not the only surprise Samsung has for us this week. Together with the Galaxy S10, the brand also unveils the futuristic and highly anticipated foldable phone – the Samsung Galaxy Fold – and guess what, it looks like a butterfly.

We imagined the foldable phone to look like a flip phone that folds vertically, but what Samsung developed is really something else. It folds horizontally making it look like a smartphone and a tablet folded into one.

As expected, Samsung has packed all hopes to this innovation. In fact, it already released the full specifications and here it is.

Main Display: 7.3” QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED (4.2:3)

Cover Display: 4.6” HD+ Super AMOLED (21.9)

The screen is measured diagonally as a full rectangle without accounting for the rounded corners.

Camera

Memory: 12GB RAM(LPDDR4x), 512GB (UFS3.0)

User memory is less than the total memory due to the storage of the operating system and software used to operate the device features. Actual user memory will vary depending on the operator and may change after software upgrades are performed. No microSD slot.

Battery: 4,380mAh (typical), refers to the typical value of the battery capacity as tested under third-party lab conditions. The typical value is the estimated average value considering the deviation in battery capacity among the battery samples. Rated (minimum) capacity is 4,275mAh. Actual battery life may vary depending on the network environment, usage patterns and other factors.

It is Fast Charging compatible on wired and wireless, Wired charging compatible with QC2.0 and AFC, and Wireless charging compatible with WPC and PMA.

And, indeed, they have. Samsung is really making a revolutionary change in the mobile industry this year.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold is set to launch in Singapore in Q2 2019 and it does not come cheap. The device is expected to retail at more than US$1,980 as the company announces.
